Lupin the 3rd is one of my ALL TIME favorite anime franchises and favorite characters. I've been a fan of this anime ever since I first saw it on Adult Swim back in 2003. The action and comedy blended so well, I couldn’t help but get excited whenever I watched it. On top of it, this anime is incredibly funny, I mean REALLY funny.

The plot follows expert thief Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin, who travels the world in order to steal the rarest and most valuable treasures on Earth. Lupin mostly steals for the challenge of the theft, not for material wealth. Joining him on his capers is the sharpshooter Daisuke Jigen and the stoic samurai Goemon Ishikawa XIII. Also part of Lupin’s gang is the femme fatale, and Lupin’s main love interest / rival, Fujiko Mine. Sometimes she often works against Lupin than with him than helping him, but their relationship is so fun to watch. On their trail, is the bumbling Inspector Zenigata whose life mission is to put Lupin behind bars.

Another reason why I love this show is the jazzy score composed by the great Yuji Ohno who still composes music for Lupin III to this day! This project to me a celebration of one of anime’s most beloved franchises that still manages to steal (pun intended) people’s hearts to this very day. Each beat is named after a treasure Lupin has stolen or plan to steal. I had a lot of fun making this project and I hope you all like it too. Enjoy.

This project is dedicated to the memory of the creator of Lupin III, Kazuhiko Katō aka Monkey Punch. (May 26, 1937 – April 11, 2019). RIP.
